Belated Update...

So I have been under the weather for way too long these days. It has been 1 1/2 weeks of sickness for me, and I have had enough. In that time, I have not been able to get out of my room as much as I have wanted. Besides working for Shakespeare and Chinese class, I have been active in Keble's Choir and the Oxford Art Movement. The art club meets in Christ Church College (which is expansive and impressively beautiful). I did a color pencil sketch of  a painting by Egon Schiele. I am going to try and see if any of his drawings or paintings are in London, because the stuff I saw of his in books is staggering. It just knocks me off my feet. Anyways, I think I am going to try and scale back Choir involvement a bit, and try and travel between class sessions during the week. I want to get out of this cursed house. On a positive note, it has been an AMAZING week for me in terms of music to listen to. I have been exchanging tons of music with friends, and here is my list of things everyone in the world should hear:
The Goat Rodeo Sessions: Yo-Yo Ma, Edgar Myer, and others
The National: The Boxer
Joanna Newsom: Have One on Me
The Raconteurs

My sketch alongside its original by Egon.

Trip to a bookstore

So I found an amazing bookstore. I can't reveal it's name, because if more people found out about it, it would ruin the atmosphere. I feel so cool in there.

Sick in Oxford

So, updates have been scant as of late. I have been suffering from a cold for the past week, and also working for my 2 new classes. Starting now, I will be doing 8 weeks of Shakespeare and Chinese. I really like my teachers. I have also joined the Keble chapel choir and cannot wait to rejoin them once my current cough subsides. Hopefully then I can travel too instead of being cooped up in this house like a crippled bird with a wounded wing. I plan to see St. Vincent in mid November, but my plans this month are not yet cemented. Maybe I'll go to Bath. I hear nice things...
Bye for now, hopefully I'll have better news to report soon.

Oxford workload

I just went bookshopping for an upcoming Shakespeare class. The stack in the left-middle are the 8 plays I am going to read, while the stack on the middle-right is the collection I have already read for Bradshaw's imperialism class. The periphery Stacks are CURO and some black Atlantic writer's books. I wonder what I will have to read for Chinese...
